You think 1000 thoughts a day. How many are Spirit-led?

“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”

- Romans 8:5

2 Corinthians 5:16 says, “We regard no one according to the flesh.” In other words, as believers, we’re invited to see each other—and ourselves—not with ordinary eyes, but with spiritual ones. Not by what’s on the surface, but by what God sees.In other words, as believers, we’re invited to see each other—and ourselves—not with ordinary eyes, but with spiritual ones. It makes you think: on an average day, if we’re awake for about a thousand minutes, that’s roughly a thousand moments—thoughts, actions, choices. Now, sure, a lot of those are everyday things like “What’s for lunch?” or “Where did I leave my phone?” But what if we paused to look a little deeper?

How many of those thousand thoughts are rooted in the flesh—centered on ego, fear, or self-preservation? And how many are born of the Spirit—shaped by grace, love, kindness, and the kind of thinking only a child of God can do?

It’s a convicting question. One that doesn’t come with shame, but with invitation. Because the Spirit of God is in us, and He is more than willing to shape the way we see, think, and live—one thought at a time.

So what’s your ratio today? How are you seeing others? How are you seeing yourself?

Maybe today’s a good day to ask the Lord to help us see a little more clearly—not just with our eyes, but with our hearts.

When the Party Didn't Want to End
-JC (jcp@simple.biz)

It started like any other visit—decorations up, music on, everyone in position. But the moment we stepped into Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, the energy shifted.

Fairy Tale theme. Three birthdays. Royalty-level joy. The plan was simple: give the kids a magical day. But then—they flipped the script.

They laughed louder than we expected. They played harder. They drew us in. Suddenly, we weren’t running the show—they were. One activity bled into the next, and before we knew it, we had blown past the schedule like it didn’t exist. No one cared. Especially not us.

And just when we thought the day was winding down, the kids huddled close. “Don’t go yet,” they said. Eyes wide. Smiles holding on. And just like that, the party became something else—a moment we didn’t want to leave either.

Shoutout to @Kimberly Rose, @Tin B, and @Veronica G. You didn’t just help make this happen. You helped make it unforgettable.

We came with a plan—celebrate birthdays, bring a bit of fairy tale magic, and remind the kids at Tahanan ng Pagmamahal that they matter—but from the moment we arrived, they pulled us in with laughter, hugs, and wide-eyed wonder. There was no strict program, just unfiltered joy as they played, told stories, and turned the day into something far more meaningful than we imagined. What was meant to be a party became a moment of connection—where celebration gave way to presence, and every child was reminded they are seen, known, and deeply loved.

Our Orphan Teams visit 18 orphanages across the Philippines every month to celebrate each of our 600 orphans on their birthdays. We come to celebrate, bring gifts & cakes, and spend time with them.
