What If God Is Already Speaking?
If you want to hear from God, begin where His heart already is.
Find the need. Follow the burden.
Serve the person in front of you.
God still speaks.
One of the quiet struggles of this generation is not always rebellion. More often, it is disconnection.
Many people today are overwhelmed by noise, constant updates, endless opinions, and the pressure to keep up with everything happening in the world. We are more connected than ever, yet many still feel deeply uncertain, anxious, and spiritually distant. In a world full of voices, one of the most common questions people still ask is this: How do I hear from God?
That question matters, because beneath it is often something deeper. It is not just curiosity. It is hunger. It is the longing to know that God is still near, still speaking, and still involved in the details of our lives.
The good news is that hearing from God is not reserved for a select few. It is not limited to pastors, leaders, or people with extraordinary stories. God still speaks, and He is not difficult to find.
Sometimes we ask God for direction in the personal decisions that weigh on us. What should I do next? Where should I go? What choice should I make? Scripture reminds us in James 1:5 that when we lack wisdom, we can ask, and God will answer. He is generous with wisdom, and He does not withhold it.
But often, the clearest moments of hearing God come when we stop asking only what He can do for us and begin asking what He wants to do through us.
Throughout Scripture, when God spoke clearly, it was often connected to purpose. He spoke to Moses so he could lead. He spoke to Samuel so he could serve. He spoke to Elijah so he could go. Again and again, God’s voice came with direction, and that direction was almost always tied to blessing someone else. That pattern still matters today.
If we only approach God for answers about our comfort, we may hear wisdom. But when we ask Him who needs encouragement, who needs help, who needs truth, who needs love, we begin stepping into something deeper. We begin to hear His heart. That is often where His voice becomes clearest.
In a world marked by isolation, distraction, and quiet despair, this kind of question matters more than ever. When we make ourselves available for His work, we begin to recognize His leading in ways we may have missed before. And when we begin serving what matters to Him, we often find that He begins sharing more of His heart with us.
If you want to hear from God, begin where His heart already is.
Find the need. Follow the burden.
Serve the person in front of you.
God still speaks.
Very often, He speaks while we are already on the move.
Our Ministry in the Philippines
Our Family Day Out!
By Angel P, Orphans Ministry Volunteer
Yesterday felt like a core memory in the making! We took the orphans to SM Cinema and went shopping with them, but before anything else, we made a very important stop at McDonald’s. Devotionals first before the fun. What started as a simple pause became something deeply meaningful.
Everyone began sharing their personal experiences, and our mini breakout turned into a moment of reflection. We talked about choosing to magnify God instead of our disappointments, and for a while, the room grew quiet as hearts opened.
After McDonald’s, we met up with the rest of the kids who rode a jeepney going to the mall. Even the ride itself felt like a celebration. By the time we all gathered, the excitement had grown even more. They had been hoping to watch a movie this year, and finally, that moment came.
We started with Super Mario, and the room was filled with laughter from beginning to end. It was the kind of joy that needed no explanation.
After the movie, it was time to shop with our birthday celebrant and our Duolingo topnotchers. Sharmaine chose where she wanted to go, and the whole moment felt like a simple family day out.
Meanwhile, the rest of the kids were enjoying their time at the arcade. Watching their faces light up was something truly special. For many of them, it was their first time experiencing a cinema, a mall, an arcade, and even shopping for themselves.
We shared a meal together at Mang Inasal, where everyone left full and happy. Laughter continued over unlimited rice, Sisig, and Palabok, and the joy never seemed to run out.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day was the loot bag shopping. With a buddy system in place, the kids were given the chance to choose what they wanted. It felt like they were shopping with their own families. Seeing their excitement in the simplest choices reminded us how powerful these moments can be.
There is so much more that could be said about this day, but what remains is a deep sense of gratitude. Moments like these remind us that joy is not found in grand things, but in shared experiences, in presence, and in love freely given.
We thank God for the opportunity to create memories like this, and we are grateful for the hearts that continue to make it possible.
Truly, it was a blessed and unforgettable day!
